Beginning of the end

This is the local collage that they are tearing down
I don't know why I have an urge to take photos of buildings being torn down, guess there is some beauty on the destruction.

And this is what they have built in its place. A brand new college

Random 5 Friday

1. So my mobile phone is up for upgrade today. so big deal you think, just get a new phone. As this has been the case for many years, I always knew what I wanted before upgrading.
So i get onto the operator and thought "I know exactly what I want. I want a Samsung Galaxy note 3."
I get off the phone and am now the proud owner of an iphone 5s.
How the Hell did that happen !!!
So much for knowing what I wanted huh.

2. It was the first time this week that we were able to take little Khali out for her very first walk. Shes really impressed us with her lead skills.

3. My brother who works for the local cinema asked last night if i wanted to go see a new horror movie. Devils Due. All i have to say is to stay away from this film if you have a nervous disposition. It is scary stuff....And only a 15 rating.

*update* This was a recommended viewing from Tanya over @ Around Roanoke

4. All of the camera equipment has been cleaned off and will be making an appearance when this crazy rain stops, its been like this since Christmas day here in the UK.

5. The most important randomness is that GAME OF THRONES is stating back on out TV's 4/6/13.. And boy I cant wait.

Random 5 Friday

Well one week has already passed us and 2014 has hardly started. Is it truth in what the older generations say. Time goes quicker when your older? If so im moving to warmer climates and partaking in some extreme sports !!

So random Friday, Lets see what we have for you.

1. Our little Khali had a visit to the vets on Monday to get he last round of vaccinations. as of Wednesday nest week she can officially go on her first ever walk. at this moment shes is as far away from walking as humanly possible.

2. I had to build a new gate in the yard as someone has discovered how to climb steps now.

3. I waited up for hours last night to witness the aurora borealis, but it did not venture down to the south of the UK and all i got to see was a waxing crescent moon.

Here is what i was hoping for

4. The bright lights and sparkle of Christmas is well and truly over and the work on the house starts again. 2013 was a long old slog and and hoping for a more productive and less expensive 2014.

We went from this  - March 2013

To this so far - Christmas 2013 (not completely finished but getting there)

5. I am hopefully going to have a decent outing with the camera tomorrow (weather pending) and need to find some waterfalls that can be accessed by foot, as we now have the crazy 4 legged one with us.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Cyfartha castle

I am running my magic bag low, too low for comfort. You see a  break in the weather and you gotta jump at it.

A trip to the local park topped up the magic once again and managed to get a half decent shot of the most iconic building in the town.

Cyfartha Castle. Owned in the early 1800 by the iron masters of the town. This is where they ran the most successful iron production company in thew world.

On this day in 2013

On this day 1 year ago

I want to take you back in time, OK so its only 1 year ago and dip into the archive to see what I was posting up exactly 1 year ago today.

It was a fresh new years day (Sunday) and I went of to the local waterfall for a spot of shooting with the newly bought Nikon D7000.

It was the first time i had shot with this camera, and i think the upgrade from the D3100 was well justified.

So what were you blogging about in 2013.

A Present for little K

Seeing that she has been such a good girl and now that she has had the acceptance of the blogging world i thought it was time to buy little Khaleesi a present.

Well i say present, its more for me than it is her, but she loves it. Didnt bite, tug, chew or bother with it at all which is always a plus.

Is it a sign of things to come or is she leading me onto a false sense of security??

If you haven't got it yet i bought her her first ever harness. Its still a little big but she will grow into it quick enough.

Misty Mountains

In the Hobbit they speak of the lonely mountain, I think they got it all wrong when filming. The lonely mountain is here in Wales, UK not in New Zealand. Silly Mr.Jackson !!!

And who went to see what was atop that mountain...Well me obviously

Someone is teething, no its not me

So Khaleesi is just over 9 weeks old and like a baby she is starting to teeth like crazy. So the meat eating carnivore that i am has to get her something proper to teeth on.

There is only one option, A Pigs Ear.

It may or not be working but its keeping her quiet, allowing me to have a crafty cup of tea and maybe i can get to read some of my book ( papaerback version only, remember the Ipad incident !!)

Random Five Friday

This is my first go at the R5F hop so here goes (Clears throat)

1. We aint seen nothin' like this before - Over here in the little old UK we are experiencing wind and rain to the likes we have never seen before. Driving storms across the Atlantic are battering the country to a standstill.... And yes its set to last all weekend, so its DIY weekend for me !!!

2. Finding a new author is always exciting - Jim Butcher is the latest one that i have found. Reading at bedtime has always been a favorite pastime of mine, but something about reading on the Ipad should come with a health warning.. falling asleep and having a book hit you on the head isnt so bad, falling asleep and having the Ipad hit you on the old conker is just plain dangerous.
Morale of this story - Technology is banned at bedtime, paperbacks only !!

3. I have out gorgeous puppy to look after whilst Gemma is in work the weekend, so point number one Ref DIY is out of the question. Unless i gotta take down the Christmas decorations. That is an order i cannot deviate from.

4. I really need to get myself into order and get all of my cameras / equipment dismantled and cleaned, its been a while and it needs to be done.

5. I bought myself a new lens recently

And i know i need to get around to reviewing it - I think i will if point 3 doesnt come off.

Linking up with Nancy for this one

On my blog in 2014 I want to .......

So now that the new year is upon and for many of us the the guilt of over eating and drinking has truly set in maybe it's time to look to the year ahead and what we would like to get out of it in terms of the information we share to our fellow bloggers.

Here's mine

I know that I MUST dedicate more of my free time to commenting and sharing in the stories and lives that others so kindly spend great swaths of time and effort compiling.

And my presence in blogger world needs to be more meaningful that just a couple of half decent photos aweigh no real substance or story to them.

With the house renovation and a 9 month long blog to made public shortly I have no excuse (especially with the new pup) to get out there and start photographing our lovely country.

What do you want out of 2014?????

Have a safe start to 2014 all, I'll try and rustle up some images this evening for you all.

Puppy bath time

Firstly i must say a big warm welcome to 2014 for all you wonderful bloggers out there. I hope that i can get to spend more time on here during this year. As many of you may know with the renovation of our first home together taking up all of my time and the majority of the year, blogging photographing and life simply was shelved for a 12 month.
So a big welcome back to me :):)

This is going to be a bit of a continuing theme on this blog i can imagine for some time.

Our ever growing puppy is taking up more and more of our time so, i now feel the need to share our journey with all our lovely followers.

I give you Khaleesi's first bathtime

Minus the ears she looks something like a seal pup

Dem sad puppy dog eyes

Butter wouldn't melt

How can you blow dry a dog in this position?
