Coastal shots

After a few trips to the west cost of our country i have accumulated quite a number of sea scape photos. Here are a small selection of ones that i like and have edited especially for you lovely people

Can you guess how this image was processed ??

New Quay Beach

Aberaeron Beach

Reptile close up

Caught my bearded dragon out basking this morning and couldn't resist getting the camera on him. He is the most photogenic reptile you will hope to meet when in a good mood, but when hes grumpy you can forget it (unless you got plenty of food)

The 48 hour Post - The Aftermath

Many thanks to all that got in touch over the past couple of days, it was wonderful to see what others thought of blogging, the blogging world and how you address your own blog and blogging demons.

As i touched apon in my other posts i think i need to stop creating blog posts hoping that others will like them (although that can be a good thing) and start enjoying it for myself, plus its a fun way of making a digital journal of your life.

So with that i want to set my own agenda for blogging through the week.

Monday - Visit and comment on other blogs, update social media sites.
Tuesday - publish blog post and respond to own blog comments
Wednesday - Day of rest
Thursday - Visit and comment on other blogs
Friday - publish blog post and respond to own blog comments
Saturday - Service the needs of social media.
Sunday - Edit photos for following weeks posts, update website.

I think if i know i have a structure to follow it will frame and focus my mind rather than giving half hearted attempts of doing something.

Hows does your blogging week stack up. I am open to all suggestions.

The 48 hour post - half time

Many thanks to all those who have given their thoughts, comments and feelings over this topic. I feel that whilst many of you have differing views on blogging, commenting and why you do blogging I thing one thing rings true thoughout.

Bogging is mainly a personal thing. It allows you to share your life stories, adventures and feelings to a group of people who have similar thoughts, ideas and interests.

I am a creature of worth, while I like to see my progression and push the boundaries of my creative mind I get deflated easily if the interest doesn't seem to be there..... But I have taken something from this, not everyone can like everything that I do, but what I do I am pleased with and acts as a journal of my progression through my journeys.

If people find it interesting and feel they want to comment along the way then I am blessed and humbled that they give up their time to do so.

I am now to make a conscious effort of reading and commenting more on blog posts whilst maintaining the blog and running the new website

Thank you all

A post for 48 hours

Right all, this is as the title states a post that will only last 48 hours before being removed forever.

I have been using blogger for coming upto 3 years and have loved every second. But there is something that puzzles me about the entire Blogger community.

If say I post continuously for months on end, respond to every comment and comment on all my followers blogs I generally get a pretty good response to my work on my own blog. As you would expect.

Now if i were to go on holiday for a week or so and have sporadic posts and find it hard to post on all my followers blogs the interest in the blog nose dives, not only the comments put the page hits aswell (even though i have regular post going out)

It begs to ask the question is Blogger made up of people that only comment on posts and visit blogs if the author first comments on or visits their own blog?

I have witnessed this first hand and it really deflates me, months of hard graft undone in the blink of an eye.

This is one of the reasons that I will be moving all of my work over to a more professional platform and keeping blogger running for those who are genuinely interested in my work and feel that they can comment and critique openly but also its somewhere to post up my day to day photos.

Thank you to those who have continued to visit VSB and comment even when i haven been there for you.

What are your views on the blogging community, commenting and blogging in general?

Surely i cannot be the only one wit these views

Local forest walk

A few weeks ago i went for a walk along a trail of woodland that I hadn't been to since a youngster. The only thing that had changed is that i was now older. The paths, the river even to the place where other teenagers camp out for the night were exactly how i remembered them.

The only one i had half dcent light on (due to the long exposure)

Aberaeron Seascape

Seeing the weather outside is really rubbish at the moment I thought a nice seascape is in order to lift spirits.

If you had one photograph to take in one place anywhere on this planet where would it be? and why?

Aberaeron, West Wales

Aberaeron Beach

Not shown any of you this type of photo before. I had edited it just after having the staples in my head. Being slightly concuss i dont know what happened to the editing. I was supposed to be a nice bright sunny beach photo, what turned out was a dark, eerie solitary place from some kind of Hitchcock movie.

Well here goes.

Aberaeron Harbour

A night time long exposure shot taken in the west of Wales (Aberaeron to be exact) whilst at the family's holiday home.

This was from a few weeks ago, this week hasnt been very fruitful with photos. There has been alot happening with the house build and i managed to get sent to A&E to have 7 staples inserted into my head....Dont ask its a long story.

Its becoming hard to find inspiration for photos when covered in dust concrete and wood shavings. But lets hope that when the house is put back together i am able to give this blog a full 100% again.

ReBranding ideas

Hi everyone,

I've been doing some thinking since the latest blogger episode of spamming. and realize that the name of my website is a little long, drawn out and not very showing of what i do.

So, im going to throw out a line to any of you (or all of you) that come up with some short yet striking name suggestions for a completed blog overhaul.

Its time I kick started this pony into gear and see what im really made of.

Ive been thinking of a few names along the lines of

LowISO
FrameRate
ThatPhotoGuy
ShaunGibbsImages
ShaunGibbsPhotography

You get the Idea.

Here is something just to keep you all entertained !!
