Getting out there early doors

I made the decision to go out with the camera this morning before work started. Up and out before 7am is pretty darn good for me, a quick drive around the surrounding countryside and i managed to quickly edit these two before having to become a slave to the system once again.

Again, a question on the first photo.....

Q: What do you think this brickwork tower was used for?

Clue: its all to do with tunnels !

A: This is more commonly known as a "pepper pot" and is a light and air ventilation shaft for the tunnel that runs 80 feet below this point and a total length of approximately 1,100 feet
