Images of the day - Local town for local people

As i was having a sleepless night last night and i was up like a lark this morning i got down into my local town to take some photos and pass the time before i went to work.

This first image, is the old town hall. This was built in 1896 and served as the local council offices until its workers were moved into a new building in the mid 1980's. By the early 1990's it was turned into a two storey niteclub, this was closed around the 1999/2000 mark. It was locked up and never seen the light of day again. It is another waste of an iconic local building.

Next door to this, and quite ironic is a church. Its a local baptist church. I have never ventured in there.

And finally, before i had to make it into the office one of the old stone cottages of the town. One of these belonged to Joseph parry, a local musician and composer. One of his famous Welsh Hymns was Myfanwy. If any of you have seen the film "twin Town, it is the song they sing on the pier at the end of the film.

And finally, that video of the Hymn "Myfanwy"

Thank you

Shaun
