Image of the Day - Eye of the beholder

As the newest addition of our ever growing reptile family, id like to introduce Valentino. He is a male Harlequin crested gecko. Its a nightmare to get a photo at the best of time of him during the daytime (being nocturnal) but today he must have been feeling adventurous . This is the only close up i managed to get before he scampered off.

  1. Well, I haven't been to New Caledonia, which are off of the east coast of Australia, so I would like mine,(Wood Duck,)to be a brought in an aquarium. That is a terrific peice of photography, the way it holds its head, superb.

  9. Oh my gosh he's beautiful, very handsome and this is a great close up Shaun. Very enjoyable to see! I love the little fringe he has. I've always been fascinated with reptiles. My daughter-in-law has a pet snake called Peaches. He was part of her family long before she met our son, and I think I surprised her when she discovered I enjoyed reptiles as much as she did, though I have never had one as a pet. Tried when I was a kid but my mum, bless her, couldn't handle the idea of reptiles. We had plenty of other pets though.
